Jon Moxley is the most overrated wrestler in the world. I like some things he tries to do, but many of the things he actually does are cringe. Why is he being booked to be basically unstoppable through normal means. No wrestling move will put him away seemingly no matter what. This is horrible and the power scaling is complete trash because of it.
He blades his head for no good reason almost every single match. It's not like the old school where you might get busted open from punches or because the fight is so intense or you get hit with something when the ref is distracted. Moxley blatantly cuts himself on spots where he doesn't get damaged in such a way that blood makes any sense for the story. Recently he sliced his own ear after the earring pull from Jericho. He bladed his forehead deep vs Tanahashi after Tanahashi stomped on his neck and chest area and then gave him a slingblade. He has been bleeding on a weekly basis for months now. He simply likes to cut himself open. That is garbage wrestling.
Moxley looks like a plumber. His actual work in ring is generic and nothing to sing praises for in my opinion in any way. It really is like he's doing plumbing work, cleaning pipes of feces going through the motions.
The only actual thing about his presentation that's good is his entrance, which is a combination of his WWE Shield character and the ghost of Atsushi Onita, cosplaying as Stone Cold Steve Austin. If Moxley had half of the physical charisma and entertainment factor of Stone Cold Steve Austin, maybe AEW could draw a million viewers to watch his matches with undercarders and fellow plumbers like Mance Warner.
