But the fans would have revolted/rejected her (or anyone really) who would have beaten Asuka. They did not want to see her lose and to his credit Gaytch was smart enough to know this and had her go out undefeated. You could argue it hurt/killed Ember but she still went on to be the next in line and the fans took her in and accepted her as Asuka's predecessor with no resentment because she wasn't put over her.
I do still find it very funny tho.
