So, I’ve been seeing speculation on Reddit and Twitter that Io will NOT go back to Stardom full time but instead STAY in America and primarily work for AEW.
The reason people are speculating this is because it’s been reported before that the reason Io left Japan/Stardom was because she did everything there was to do in Stardom (True, she was basically their Roman Reigns) and she wanted to become a star in America.
She might still have that dream of making it in America. But if she wants longer trips to Japan, so she can visit family and even wrestle matches for Stardom, it’s quite possible she can got to AEW.
AEW is pretty nice letting their Japanese stars leave for months at a time to wrestle in Japan. Hikaru Shida goes on and off like every 3 months to wrestle shows in Japan before coming back to AEW. Yuka Sakazaki is still listed on the AEW roster but she’s only making appearances every few months now and primarily wrestles in Japan now (She might have a pay-per-appearance deal now).
So, by going to AEW, Io might have more opportunities to visit Japan when she wants to, but also still having a chance to make it in America.
