>>5838753Lemme tell you a story. It was the spring of 2015 and I was traveling the world in search of a purpose. On that warm spring night, I found myself in a youth hostel in downtown Kowloon, reading a selection of travel guides for the Southwestern US—those being the only things I found to read at the time.
Halfway through a passage on indigenous archaeological sites, a voice rang out.
>"Chocolate can't get no shit in China"I looked up to see a rather animated black gentlemen—drink in hand—seated at a nearby table and chatting with assortment of other hostel guests.
>"Chocolate can't get no shit in China"He repeated
>"All they want is vanilla. Boy do they love vanilla"I had never really thought about it until that man said it aloud, but considering all I had seen and heard until that point, I couldn't deny he spoke the truth. And sure enough, those words have stuck with me to this very day.
What I'm trying to say is, the world is a big place. Far bigger than you can ever know just sitting on your computer.
