From what I’m seeing, the Warner/discovery merger was done as a preemptive move to allow, what will essentially be a ATT/Comcast merger. ATT divested in turner to sell it to discovery, with the future intent on merging with nbc universal, which is owned by comcast. This merger would make att and comcast partners in cable tv and streaming, and would probably assist them in working together as isp providers. Comcast has a mobile phone network but it’s not viable, so that’s probably why they would want to work with ATT.
I personally am a Verizon customer, and intend on staying one, but they don’t currently have a viable media conglomerate, so do you guys think they could merge with cbs Viacom? Keep in mind that fox and Disney are also merged.
