>At All Japan Pro Wrestling’s September 23 Tachikawa event, Miyahara Kento (36) defeated Saito Jun (38) to capture the Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship for the seventh time, his first reign in two years and seven months.
>The match was fierce from the outset. Brawling spilled to the floor, where Miyahara was repeatedly smashed into the ring post and guardrails. Back inside, he was punished with tackles and a long-delayed vertical suplex. But midway through, Miyahara fought back, hitting a piledriver on the apron to show his grit and prevent a one-sided affair.
>The battle raged back and forth, but after taking a super chokeslam, Miyahara was in deep trouble again. Still, he immediately returned fire with a Blackout knee strike. Later, Jun nearly knocked him out with a Dying Light kick, but Miyahara’s toughness refused to allow the three-count. When Jun charged in, Miyahara nailed a counter Blackout, then delivered his deadly Shutdown Suplex.
>It seemed over—only for Jun to shockingly kick out at two. Even so, when Jun showed one last burst of resistance, Miyahara caught him again with another Shutdown Suplex and this time secured the three-count. The hard-fought battle ended at 22 minutes, 57 seconds. Regaining the throne, Miyahara roared, “Pro wrestling fans, I’ve kept you waiting! This is what you wanted to see, right? Once again, I am your new Triple Crown Heavyweight Champion, Miyahara Kento!”
