I'll give you that he has a lot of bite with these recent promos and I'd believe if he had reservations about Sami not being the one to end it, but I still don't think it's the case. There was never a plan to have Sami going up against Roman for the title when the Honorary Uce stuff started, his run wit The Bloodline was originally supposed to end at Survivor Series which would've led to a more speedy Sami and KO reunion. They only decided against that because it started to gain a lot of traction they could bank off of and build a new story around. But then comes the issue of their Mania main event plans, which were all built around The Rock coming back at the Rumble. Plans that were not set in stone and ultimately bit them in the ass when they found out that Dwayne had done ZERO conditioning for in-ring work. So then they had to slap it all together and the biggest babyface they had, who happened to also be gearing up for a return, was Cody. Why Cody? Because Sami beating Roman helps neither of them and is completely unbelievable, even to people who wanted it to happen. Roman would look like a total fucking goober losing to El Generico and would've undermined a title reign longer than Hogan's. And what happens to Sami after he wins the title? Without Roman or The Bloodline to lean on he's just a bland babyface at that point, his heat would die down considerably in the months following. Yeah we'd probably get some good matches with KO and Jey, but that's considering if that'll even happen. Another reason why WWE picked Cody to be 'the guy' is because they need a new top all-American babyface now that Cena is heading out the door and since Reigns was a bust. Come Mania time Vince and other execs would push for Cody to win because in their eyes Sami is not a flag bearer for the business. A Sami win would've been amazing in the moment, but a Sami run would've been an underwhelming wet fart. That's just the truth OP.
