And - even worse - Dave Meltzer managed to convince the pro wrestling cosmos that he was its authoritative voice on what constitutes quality in-ring product. In many ways, Dave Meltzer is the Roger Ebert of pro wrestling, and I don't mean that as a compliment. The same way Ebert's egomania and political self-righteousness tainted his "impartial" movie reviews, Meltzer's measuring stick for what makes "good 'rasslin" is also highly suspect.
