It sounds cliche at this point (but that's their goal), but unironically, it was caused by feminism. Over the decades, women have trained men to cater and bow to their will. Men COULD overtake the world and make women slaves, but years of being taught that men are bad and masculinity is toxic and evil, coupled with pavlovian training (no pussy if you have problematic opinions or do problematic things like keeping women in check, mentally and physically) have made men scared to do anything unless women say it's okay.
Think about it, all of this shit men used to publicly shame women for: being whores, smoking, tattoos, promiscuity, dressing like sluts, being fat, being unhealthy, hanging around shitty men, etc.
All these traits, for decades now, women have more and more been encouraging each other to do. While bringing out the pitchforks for all men that speak up.
Now every woman has a high definition camera in their pocket that they can record your views and ruin your reputation in front of millions in the blink of an eye. And men do it too, because they think it'll impress the women, and they've been conditioned, subconsciously (even conservative men).
I'm pretty sure it's gonna take a war to shift things back in our favor, because men are way too pussified. They can always be unlocked again, but right now, women hold all the power and cards, until men take things back.
I've done it myself in relationships, but the problem is most men don't, so it works, but it also ruins the relationship because they realize they can just go find some other simp like before that won't keep them in check.
