He's based specifically because he's NOT a mark. He was never a fan of wrestling, this is something he won a radio contest for (Wrestlemania tickets) and just decided, "I can do this" and so he did it.
That is probably what separates him from most of his peers. He has a unique outsider's view which, in my opinion, vastly improves his wrestling psychology.
