>>8967066ok honest thoughts from a pretty normie perspective
im sure a big part of it is that it was the way wrestling was first introduced to me, the first show i watched. before that i knew less about wrestling than even an average person.
ive only been watching wrestling for a few months, but every time i try to watch wwe i just cant get into it. too bright, too corporate, i dont like any of the women, and only care for a few guys like la knight or seth rollins. other than that its a weird overproduced melodramatic (and not in the fun way) adhd show
i like aew because its darker, a bit more gritty, better aesthetic for me. i enjoy the matches themselves as well. i cant name many wrestling moves and i dont know abt the different styles and shit but i can say the physical wrestling itself, compared to wwe, is really compelling and exciting from a normie perspective. i find the personalities more likeable, and the wrestlers themselves are way hotter than wwe guys.
i dont care too much about the weird story gaps and shit in aew like i recognize that they rehash some shit and some stories are dropped randomly. i dont mind it because i kinda like the fact that new angles and feuds can come out of nowhere. i like random dudes from other promotions just being tossed in there cause its like shit whats this guys deal you know. its more fly by night, less polished. its exciting imo, sometimes eyeroll worthy, but in general i like the way its booked
