Does anyone feel like the pendulum has swung back in AEW’s favor? I mean, the ratings for AEW are way up from where they were in the summer, this show and next week’s show are sold out, Full Gear is close to sold out, this show will undoubtedly SKYROCKET coming off last week’s Hurricane coverage and WWE is starting to plummet again. 5 consecutive plummets for WWE shows, RAW and NXT plummeted two weeks in a row and if Smackdown plummets again, it’ll be 6 in a row. Next week’s RAW in NYC only has 6000 tickets out, in a city AEW sold 20,000 and 13,000 tickets in.
It might be premature to say this but the WWE honeymoon might already be over. The fans tuned back in to WWE, realized it was the same old shit and now they’re coming back to AEW. It feels like HHH squandered an enormous opportunity to deliver a killing blow and the only people still “raving” about how much better WWE is are people trying really hard to convince themselves it’s so much better now.
