Per Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter WWE reportedly wants a hell of a lot of money to bring Wrestlemania (2 Days) to the UK, a price the city of London isn't willing to pay.
>It's all about tourism
But as Meltzer notes London has no problem driving up tourism as the city is one of the biggest hot spots in Europe for tourism, especially during the summer. WWE was SHOT DOWN previously by the city of London who was unwilling to meet their outrageous asking price.
>This is all in response to AEW in Wembley
Dave went on to address the obvious, AEW's game recently came out and the latest WWE game immediately went on sale the very same day. AEW announces a historic attendance record in the UK with over 65K tickets sold and suddenly WWE wants Wrestlemania in London? You don't need a rocket scientist to piece things together.
Basically WWE are trying to big league AEW and London and are kindly being told fuck off mate. AEW now looks to have a very strong market for themselves moving forward, considering the Khans nearly purchased Webley Stadium itself and own Craven Cottage WWE in all likelihood will have to settle for smaller territories such as Cardiff and Manchester for the foreseeable future.
