Triple H might be riding high with WWE’s current momentum—but according to Vince Russo, his seat at the top could be getting warm. And there’s only one man Russo sees taking over: The Rock.
During the latest episode of the Coach and Bro Show, the outspoken wrestling veteran didn’t hold back when discussing the future of WWE’s creative direction. Russo believes that the TKO Group, WWE’s new corporate overseers, aren’t all that impressed with The Game—but they’re absolutely invested in The Final Boss.
>“WWE is no longer a wrestling company, it’s an entertainment company,” Russo said. “It is run by entertainment people who are above Triple H. Those entertainment people are not impressed by wrestlers. In other words, they are not impressed by Triple H.”Russo then dropped the big statement:
>“If we can have The Rock running this company, they don’t look at The Rock as a wrestler, they look at him as a mega mega mega star. If we can have The Rock running this company, The Rock is going to run this company.”The Rock, who officially joined TKO’s board of directors in 2023, has already started flexing his influence backstage. He reportedly brought in his longtime Hollywood collaborator and writer Brian Gewirtz to work on WWE storylines—especially involving his current TV role as The Final Boss.
But for Russo, this goes beyond The Rock’s current on-screen run. He says WWE’s long-term direction hinges on what The Rock wants.
>“The future of that company depends on The Rock and what The Rock wants to do,” Russo continued. “I believe that with all my heart. This has nothing to do with Triple H, this has to do with The Rock and his career in Hollywood and what he wants to do. There’s no question in my mind that they don’t want him to be the guy heading that company.”https://www.ringsidenews.com/2025/03/28/vince-russo-says-tko-wants-the-rock-to-replace-triple-h-as-wwes-creative-boss/
