>A woman who aimed to debut in pro wrestling at age 32
>I'm Yoshiko Hasegawa, regularly appearing with Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling, taking the baton from Shino Suzuki! I’m scheduled to retire on July 8, 2025, but since I believe many of you are meeting me for the first time, please allow me to briefly introduce myself.
>I made my pro wrestling debut on November 6, 2019, at the Actwres girl'Z Korakuen Hall show! I was born on February 28, 1987, so I’m currently 38 years old. At the time, it was quite rare to debut in pro wrestling at age 32, and Fuji TV’s documentary program The Nonfiction followed me closely on my journey to debut. There’s so much I want to share—about that documentary, my background, and more. I’m sure there are things I should and shouldn’t say, but since I’ve been given this wonderful opportunity to write a column, I’d like to be as open and honest as possible—haha.
>So first, let me talk about why I chose to debut in pro wrestling at the age of 32.
>At 18, I enrolled in a performing arts school and joined a talent agency when I turned 20. I continued working in the entertainment industry, appearing a bit on TV, in commercials, and on stage. But before I knew it, I turned 30. I started wondering: I want to get married, I want kids—am I really okay continuing like this?
>At that point, I had decided to quit show business and considered that stage performance to be my last. Coincidentally, that stage was organized by the representative of AWG. Actually, my first encounter with AWG happened six months before that performance. A friend of mine had been invited to join AWG and said, “Let’s do it together! For now, let’s just go watch some pro wrestling!” That’s how it all started.
>That friend was extremely cute and cheerful, with many fans—she was quite popular. She was also several years younger than me, so I felt a little embarrassed going with her.
