But the smarks still stayed. This went on until all the normies were gone and the audience became literally nothing but smarks. So WWE found itself in a position where they were forced to cater to smarks because only smarks were watching it. At the same time, wrestling had become so unpopular that pretty much only smarks wanted to become wrestlers anymore. So the talent pool became smarks. And thus WWE was forced to hire smark wrestlers. This is why the WWE of today is shit, unpopular, and is completely unable to make new stars(you can't make stars out of smarks). Ultimately the monopoly and the fans are both the blame.
