>【STARDOM】Fuwa-chan Exclusive: “I Want to Give Back” — Overseas Training During Hiatus
>Fuwa-chan, the popular YouTuber and TV personality who has decided to return as a professional wrestler, gave an exclusive interview. After posting an inappropriate comment about fellow entertainer Yasuko on X (formerly Twitter) in August of last year and apologizing, she suspended her activities. On November 7, she made a surprise appearance at the STARDOM Korakuen Hall event, declaring her restart as a wrestler. With her re-debut set for December 29 at Ryogoku Kokugikan, Fuwa-chan spoke candidly — entirely in formal language — about her 15-month hiatus.
>―Appearing in public again after 15 months
>Fuwa: There were many moments when I became emotional, remembering what it felt like to chase my dreams back when I was a student. But today isn’t the real test yet. From here, I want to overcome the hardships and struggles so that on the day of the match I can truly say, “I’m glad I did it.”
>―Looking back on the controversy
>Fuwa: My words spread throughout Japan and caused sadness to many people, which was never my intention. I chose this line of work to make people happy, but instead I hurt them. I felt I needed to take responsibility, so I suspended my entertainment activities. I accepted it as karmic retribution for what I said, and I spent a year and a half deeply reflecting.
>―How did you spend your hiatus?
>Fuwa: I traveled around the world, thinking about what I truly wanted to do. I went to see WWE, attended wrestling schools overseas like in London, studied languages in the morning, and got beaten up by big guys in the afternoon. When I debuted, people said, “You’re good for a celebrity,” but abroad, no one knew me. I was told, “You’re terrible,” or “Why can’t you do it like everyone else?” while grinding through training.
>―That’s how much wrestling influenced you.
