That’s why people used to joke about WWE being anime for rednecks, there was actual drama and fighting, nowadays wrestling is basically just a gymnastics show. Storylines were more believable back then, particularly Bret’s since his character was always grounded and realistic. When a feud started between two men, they actually acted it out properly, you could feel the tension and loathing between their characters. If you want to beat the shit out of someone and humiliate him in front of thousands of people, you don’t do some faggot ballerina bullshit like all wrestlers do these days, you simply beat the shit out of him then powerbomb the fucker through a table.
