The PG era aggressively catered to a different base, and for that base Cena was the real deal. It wasn't just "Cena sucks" chants, it was always jaded smarks chanting that and squeakers going "Let's go Cena!" right back from my recollection. Kids were in love with Cena. I'm afraid I can't opine in good faith when it comes to Roman because I stopped watching shortly after Wrestlemania 31 and only sporadically checked back on it for the brunt of his title reign. From what I can see he's nothing compared to Cena in terms of legacy, pop culture or nothing
