Cornette is oblivious to this dissonance with his actual beliefs and him thinking he's a liberal democrat. He's a rich kid who's set for life. He could coast on signing a few action figures a week for the rest of his life if he chose to. He's highly entertaining and speaks amazingly fluidly, but do not confuse this with intelligence. He thought "opaque" was equivalent to "transparent" just an episode ago because that's the association he's made with it in his mind. All his learnin' comes from experience, not books. So little mistakes like this pop up all the time. He's an entertaining bullshitter with wrestling-flavored autism. He also falls for the same bullshit when its fed back to him from the news. His father was in news, so there's probably a deep seated trust in what these now-entertainment programs are telling him.
