>CM Punk vs Dustin Rhodes
Classic legends match. Two titans of the industry going at it with a backdrop of poignant story telling: the grizzled veteran looks to cement his superstar status, not just in versimilitude, but as a matter of practicum.
>Wardlow vs The Butcher
Visual and emotional stimulation cranked up to 11. Two absolute behemoths going face to face. Almost akin to Mitsuharu Misawa vs Toshiaki Kawada (1997), there's a special undertone of finality to the initial projection of Wardlow at play here. He can win, or he can go by the way of Lou Thesz in his bout with Gagne in the Garden. Incredible booking.
>Hook's Dynamite Debut
I haven't been this excited to see a wrestler debut since Earl Maynard in EMLL in 1971. The specialness is palpable. You can sense wrestling will receive the rejuvenation it needs with HOOK. Technically brilliant, aesthetically profound, Tony has found his golden goose (a la Bobby Heenan).
>Tony Khan has a huge announcement!
I'm pacing around my room in anticipation. I hope it's a streaming deal.
>Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. vs Danielle Kamela to qualify for the Owen Hart Cup
This match will not disappoint. The story has been masterful in its squared circle prose. Baker, an impenetrable heel, sets herself up against one of the most underrated wrestlers in the business.
>Kyle O'Reilly vs Jungle Boy to qualify for the Owen Hart Cup
My favorite match on this card. My eyes will be glued to the screen. I expect a technical masterclass, of course, but I have a feeling we will witness a dueling psychology that could draw comparisons to Babe Sharkey vs Don Evans (1945) for the world title. Both matches on the heels of war, Jungle Boy a callback to the tactile mercenaries that took down the axis powers. O'Reilly, a symbolic plea to the Ellis Island refugee who battles for democracy on an international scale. Breath taking story writing.
