Former WWE star Ryback reacts to the rumors of Shane possibly joining forces with Tony Khan.
According to reports, the former Hardcore Champion reached out to multiple people within AEW which started the rumors about him possibly joining the Jacksonville-based promotion. Shane has not appeared on WWE television since blowing out his quad at WrestleMania 39.
On the most recent episode of The Ryback Show, Ryback discussed the potential collaboration between McMahon and Tony Khan. The former Intercontinental Champion linked Shane McMahon's current plans to a "power move" usually done by Vince McMahon.
>"Ever since Shane had that falling out with Vince many years ago and left and was gone forever, there's always just been this weird, and I don't understand the relationship or the lack thereof, but there's clearly something not right with all of it. We've heard with all the stuff that Vince has done with this. Shane and Hunter have never really, there's always been things that they've never really been close from what I understand with everything. It is all very odd and I think it just goes to show though the fact that that rumor even got started and has been acknowledged as like being legitimate," Ryback said. The Big Guy added:
>"That is very telling of just how dysfunctional the WWE was under Vince McMahon. And still probably very much is with a lot of his pieces still in there like with that Shane, the son of Vince McMahon, who was a big part of WWE for many years and is not connected to WWE, but could possibly be connected to AEW. I think if it's the right deal can be made and I think that's good for AEW. I think it just shows why not because it gets people talking. It's a power move more than anything."
