>>13886006DDT has been having an absolutely insanely good run. They big shows have been consistently amazing, their filler shows have been solid with lots of surprises. They drew in a ton of new fans using a celebrity that they trained up who actually had a good match. They have seriously cut back on the Danshokou Deino stuff after they went way overboard with it from 2021 to 2023. From about Peter Pan 2023 DDT has been firing on all cylinders. The DDTeeeen!! project that the promotion started a few years ago has begun to bear fruit and those high schoolers they were training have begun debuting.
All Japan has a lot of work to do to shake off the years of stink they built up, but they are gradually unfucking themselves. One of the biggest things was getting rid of a lot of the shitters that had been around forever and scraped by because no one else wanted to work for the pay that was offered during the bad times. On top of that AJPW has doubled down on recruiting and are trying to train up as many young guys as they can so they can filter out the cream of the crop and replenish their ranks. I think they currently have seven guys in training who haven't even debuted yet.
>>13886300Yeah, their first big show after Mutoh left drew ~200 people if I recall. It isn't really so much that Nakajima left, it was the reasons why Nakajima left. They brought in a ton of completely dimeless gaijin and Jake Lee. They strapped a rocket to Jake Lee at the expense of pretty much every one else on the roster. It's been over a year since Jake Lee debuted and it has just got to the point where the audience will tolerate him enough that half of them won't just walk out when Jake Lee is closing out a show in the main event. One of the few bright spots on Noah's cards been HdDrWJr, and he has spent half the year to date working in Europe. Marufuji is preparing to retire. Kenoh is doing his best, but doesn't have much to work with. It is really grim right now.
