He's nostalgic in that he reminds me of a time when anyone obsessed with race, religion or politics got treated like they have a learning disability. When he cuts a promo, or tries to do a heart to heart sort of thing with the audience, or says something trendy on Twitter, it takes me back to when that was PR fodder background noise and everyone would rather jerk off to Olivia Munn instead of argue about ratings or trannies online.
