I feel that sometimes, celebrities and pro-wrestling don't really mesh.
Celebrities are entering a world that many people take seriously, especially the performers. I'm confident that people still think pro-wrestling isn't a serious business. But the performers work hard in and out the ring.
When you bring in celebrities, you could be seen as trying to legitimize the business and bring in an audience that normally doesn't watch wrestling.
No offense to the celebrities that have appeared in pro-wrestling shows, but I feel like these celebrities aren't currently in the spotlight. They don't have a high star status.
Some celebrities don't really do well in their appearance. I believe there was a guest commentator who was annoying during a Wrestlemania.
Not all celebrity appearances are bad. When they putnin the work (Knoxville, Bad Bunny) and entertain THE WRESTLING CROWD, you're doing it right.
