Chapter 1: The Attack
Kevin Nash was in Detroit for a wrestling event in the summer of 1992. After the show, he decided to go out with some of his colleagues to a nearby bar. They had a few drinks, talked, and laughed, but as the night wore on, Kevin became tired and decided to head back to his hotel alone.
As he walked down the dark and deserted alley, he suddenly heard footsteps behind him. Before he could react, a group of men grabbed him, threw him to the ground, and began to assault him. Kevin fought back, but the men were too strong and too many. They overpowered him and violated him repeatedly.
After what felt like hours, the men finally stopped and left Kevin lying there, battered and traumatized. He knew he had to get help, but he was too weak to move. He lay there for what felt like an eternity, waiting for someone to find him.
Chapter 2: The Road to Recovery
Kevin woke up in a hospital bed, surrounded by his loved ones. He had been found by a passerby who had called the police and an ambulance. The doctors had treated his injuries and had performed a rape kit.
The next few weeks were a blur of pain, sadness, and confusion for Kevin. He was consumed by shame, guilt, and fear. He didn't want to talk about what had happened to him, and he didn't want anyone to know. He was afraid of being judged, ridiculed, and not taken seriously.
However, as time passed, Kevin began to realize that he couldn't keep his trauma a secret forever. He needed to talk to someone and get help. He began to see a therapist who specialized in working with survivors of sexual assault. Through therapy, Kevin began to process his trauma and work through his emotions. He also began to come to terms with his sexuality and eventually came out publicly as gay in 1996.
