The reason is a lot of it is obviously just to dig at the fed and Shawn Michaels. Bret is the (as far as they know) unproblematic guy done wrong by the evil empire. It's also the cool thing to hate Michaels in certain circles of the interwebz. It's just too much and it's cringe.
