Like every other booker in history, Shawn rips off shit he watched growing up or when he was in the business, which in NXT's case there's quite a bit of references to old WCCW feuds spattered in there and because the material's so damn old it actually feels fresh again. And where he really excels, and this is something that Russo was good at too, is that he can actually make low/midcard feuds that aren't based directly on a title that don't overstay their welcome, especially with the fucking women. There's always atleast 2, sometimes 3 grudge match programs going on in his NXT and they almost always end with a satisfying conclusion that builds to the future.
