They've basically sent a message to everyone in WWE that you can leave, go on a run in AEW to increase your value, and come back in at a higher level as a more protected guy. After Cody, why wouldn't more WWE guys be willing to leave and bet on themselves? Getting Cody back was a win for WWE in a lot of ways but now they're going to have to deal with shit like this. It's very possible that they'll be forced to pay Claudio more and bring him back as a higher tier guy, if he say, wins the AEW championship and gets over in a big way.
