On his post-Dynamite review show, while answering fan questions Sean Ross Sapp speculated that there might be issues between Santana and Ortiz.
He pointed out how both of them don't stand side by side anymore and barely interact. Also that Santana has been taking solo bookings only outside AEW and that the two haven't teamed for quite sometime now.
This also explains Santana counting days till his AEW contract expires, and why he was written out of the Blood & Guts match very early on.
