CM Punk and Jack Perry‘s backstage altercation footage gained virality after it aired for the first time during an official AEW show. While some continue taking Punk’s side on this issue, others believe that he was in the wrong for engaging in this altercation. Ryback falls among the latter.
On The Ryback Show, the retired pro wrestler reacted to the ‘All In’ footage first shown by AEW. While Ryback did not confess to siding with Tony Khan’s promotion, he did not back up CM Punk either.
CM Punk gets called out for picking a fight
When the incident occurred, “The Best in the World” revealed that it was merely a minor altercation that happened with Jack Perry. Unfortunately, Punk was fired following what happened. Now, with the footage out in public, fans are taking sides regarding the past incident. Ryback believes that all of it happened because Punk pretends to be someone he is not. The former WWE star started by saying, “I believe CM Punk fans so desperately wanna believe he’s a tough guy and just don’t wanna remember the UFC stuff, don’t wanna believe that he’s not what he wants to be.” The ex-WWE star further added, “He’s one of the most insecure people I’ve ever met in my entire life, and he’s very jealous. He’s a maniacal, pathological liar.”
Further in the podcast, Ryback re-iterated his opinion about Punk’s insecurity and pointed out how the former AEW star gained a kick by picking on people to prove that he is a tough guy. ‘Silverback’ made his stance known as he sided with AEW while holding the Second City Saint responsible for instigating the altercation and inviting the consequences that followed.
