I am from Nagano Prefecture, I have always loved Kyoko Okazaki's manga and rock music, and I had always longed to be in Tokyo. I also liked the singer-songwriter YUI. That's how I started learning to play the guitar. In high school, I joined a band of older men I met on an online recruiting site as a vocalist. The band sang anime songs and opening songs for eroge games.
I had an interview in Tokyo. I had to make a one-minute presentation, so I went back to my roots and played the guitar. I sang "feel my soul," YUI's debut song. My voice was shaking and my guitar was falling apart. When I finished, the judges said to me, "You're in trouble now. What can you do? (laughs). So I said, "Let me sing one more song," but it didn't work. On the contrary, he asked me, "What is your self-rating?" and I said, "I scored 80!". The bell rang and it was over. I thought, "What? Oh, no." He said, "You have a high self-esteem!" (Laughter)
So, before the results were announced, the judge said, "This is the last time, is there anything else?" so I raised my hand and sang "Fight" by Miyuki Nakashima a cappella. But I vaguely remembered "Fight! so I was humming. At the time, I was just thinking, "This is a good song". But the judges didn't look at me at all, and I thought, "It's over." But then they called my name during the announcement! "It's a dream!" I thought to myself, "I guess it was a good thing that I was so desperate"."I'm going to Tokyo! I don't have to bake anymore!" I was so happy.
