Anyway, things have changed and the lesser stature in the opinion of the Japanese public is a direct result of Inoki exposing the business by feeding his guys to MMA killers even though they were untrained. And all out of vanity and ego -- it's pathetic really.
But even Inoki himself recanted and eventually threw his support back behind modern NJPW. He admitted he was wrong and chose Okada as his successor. Reiwa Inoki > Inoki
