And that's part of why The Elite got so pissed off. They knew they were losing control of Tony to Punk. Think about it. You really think they would attack Punk just because he questioned their leadership abilities? If anything, physically attacking Punk just proved his point that they're children.
Before you piggies start squealing at me, calling "bullshit", I'll leave you with this: why is it that agents, producers, medics, and even Tony Schiavone all approached CM Punk to stop Jungle Boy from the doing the spot? If Punk didn't have backstage power, they wouldn't have asked him to take care of it.
