The fact of the matter is brothers, no one really cares about the yummy wummy good matches except a select group of individuals.
The point of wrestling is to make me believe that two distinct characters have beef they want to settle inside the ring and that's what draws, if you manage to get me so invested into a storyline then the match could unironically be 10 minutes of rest holds with a few bodyslams and a finisher at the end and you'd keep me on the edge of my seat.
I'm a WWE fan through and through, but the best thing AEW ever did that actually made me actually watch the show was the Punk vs MJF rivalry, I think regardless of your feelings on the trannyfed that was without a doubt one of the best feuds of the decade and AEW needs more shit like that instead of mindless matches between yummy stargetters.
Same shit with the NJPW show, presenting it as something like there being a big rivalry between the two promotions would've actually made people want to watch the show even if you have no fucking clue who the Nujamals are, but as it stands right now most of the matches are just "here are the japanese action figures they got 6 stars from Meltzer once and here are my AEW figures they also get a lot of stars on a weekly basis please watch show good matches :)"
