>>The top guy who is pushing for the WWE to sign Punk is John Cena. Cena just point blank hates AEW and feels they did Punk dirty. Wants to give him a chance at a redemption arc in WWE and work with him again, since they have history.
>>Cena's pushing for a Punk/Cena vs Roman/Solo main event with Punk coming in as a free agent and ultimately siding with Cena over Heyman, who wants Punk back... as Roman and Solo's flunky.
>>Endeavor and Fox/USA Network definitely want Punk back and have cited the buzz that was Cody jumping ship. They feel that the WWE doesn't have any sort of real free agent "mega moments" these days and welcome the idea of Punk coming home since it will create a major buzz and draw eyeballs onto the product. And USA Network in particular hasn't been impressed with Hunter basically giving Rollins (who has never been a draw) a participation trophy world title for Raw, after Cody got fucked out of the unified title at Mania. The idea of Punk back on Raw full time would be something that they feel would revitalize the show which has fallen since the world title became exclusive to Smackdown.
>>Roman's willing to work with Punk purely because it's a sure fire money angle, which he thinks will add to his legacy and give him a proper "escape hatch" for dropping the belt at Mania; since Rock's continuing to waiver on coming back. If Rock does come back however, Roman's pitching Rock replacing Solo for said tag match since it would be his equivalent of "Hogan/Savage vs Million Dollar Man/Andre the Giant" for Mania 40 since Roman can job and not lose the belt.
>>One of the wild cards in this is Miz, who did meet with Punk who did apologize to him and Hunter. Miz accepted Punk's apology and the theory is, if Miz sides with Cena and Roman, then the side opposing Punk's return (Rollins, Owens, Zayn, Styles, etc) will have a harder time blocking Punk's return.
