It's far less stable than apt, with apt I could have <1kbps speed on the moon and it would still function, pacman breaks in these conditions.
It is also a well known joke that arch will break if you don't update it regularly.
My recommendation is to unironically install gentoo (hardened) as a base, compile your desktop environment, then main snaps or flatpaks for userspace
