>>15501483The reason it didn't really work with Brock, is that Brock is larger than life. He doesn't even fit in the modern product. He looks and acts too legitimate. Everyone knows Brock could murder Roman in about 30 seconds if he wanted to. And yet Roman was presented as the world beater. On a gutteral level, people knew it was bullshit. It broke kayfabe. All the interference became a joke too. The Usos were never a threat to Brock either. He could have squashed the Bloodline.
Brock would be a top star in any era. Roman and Cody are top stars now, but wouldn't crack the top of the card back in the Attitude Era nor the Golden Era due to much stiffer competition. They compliment each other better, and Roman gets to take the spot as the one to be intimidated by, which fits his gimmick best. Nobody was buying Roman not being intimidated by Brock. Their feuds were kayfabe breaking.
