Daniel Bryan lost "it" during his time away from the ring, and it's not coming back. Seeing him cry like a whiny little bitch for 2 years about muh dream really ruined him. Plus his character had already hit the mountain top and beat the McMahons, there was nowhere to go but down.
He never had "it" in-ring wise. He's charismatic in that endearing lovable loser dork way, but his in-ring work has ALWAYS been overrated. His offense consists of meme kick spamming and he moves really slowly in the ring for someone of his size and build. AJ, Seff, FInn, and Joe are all better in-ring performers than he is.
