Let Tony get all the corporate shit and infrastructure figured out but the show is run by the boys. And Cody was going to be the head of it all to stick it to Vince/HHH personally. But when they found Khan they assumed he was the new Ted Turner in wrestling and would just funnel the money to them while enjoying the show. In reality though he's a huge Vince mark with delusions of grandeur who quickly decided he should control everything and cosplay as his hero. That's why Cody left, he got out-autism'd by Tony and lost his spot behind the scenes. All he had left in AEW was being a performer and the fans absolutely shit on him during it so there was no reason to stay.
