>>17345865It's like they rebooted the whole storyline a week ago in Brussels. Everything that went viral after Elimination Chamber has been discarded aside from the simple fact that Cena turned heel. All of the intrigue surrounding the main event has now vanished.
Cena is 0-for-2 on his promos thus far. Not that he failed to deliver them well. He did. But *they don't make any fucking sense.* If it doesn't make sense, it won't attract, capture, and hold fan interest over time.
The script written for Cena's promos requires those who remember his prime to pretend as though he was always universally booed. The problem is we know that isn't true. There was always a loud mix of cheers and boos, supporters and haters, and he frequently addressed both of these groups during his promos year after year. There was one feeble effort to acknowledge this in Brussels, when he addressed the "Let's Go Cena!" chanters opposed to the "Cena Sucks!" chanters. Unfortunately, all Cena did was make the nonsensical point that his supporters watched him achieve his goals for their own entertainment rather than for any genuine regard for him. Fans of the Kansas City Chiefs can enjoy watching their team win and enjoy watching Patrick Mahomes achieve his goals at the same time. Sub out any sport (or sports entertainment) and player/performer, and the point still holds. His rejection of the "Let's Go Cena" camp makes no sense.
Today in Glasgow: Cena was upset in 2005 when he read the comment section after he introduced a championship belt crafted according to a new *DESIGN.* To punish these fans, he intends on ruining pro wrestling by taking the physical belt Cody now possesses. Just *THAT ONE PHYSICAL BELT* though. Cena's script writer failed to have him explain how taking that one physical belt would force the WWE to scrap the *DESIGN* it is modeled upon so they can't simply manufacture another one for the next champ. This shit is terrible, it makes no sense, and it's indefensible writing.
