I think Rampage/Collision survive because AEW needs to run a minimum 2 shows per week - House shows turned into Collision because why not, their guys needed the work and TNT needed the programming. I personally think AEW should run 3 shows per week -- Dynamite in a large arena, Collision in a 6-8k multipurpose arena, and ROH/Dark/Other in a 2-3k/Hammerstein-sized arena. But I digress.
WBD is in cost-cutting mode as you said, they're not overpaying for anything. If they lose NBA, they're going to have to take some big chances on YouTubers, TikTok personalities, or some other folks who can make shows/content for lower than typical L.A./N.Y. [[[productions]]] would cost. The new sitcom from Tina Fey or someone is not going to move the needle, PewDiePie, Mr Beast, etc, might.
