Women aren't draws. They're just pushed hard for the sake of diversity and astroturfed by online twittertards which gives you the illusion of women being draws.
>Okada
>Ospreay
Basically unknown in the US and only internet marks would've hyped up these hires. They also do not have any of the attributes that draw in the west. If megastar Edge didn't pop a huge rating then there was basically a negative chance that Ospreay or Okada would do it.
There's basically no point in having this discussion. AEW with its core philosophy was never going to draw really big, but there was clearly a sizable portion of the fanbase that was interested in it, however, they reached their ceiling immediately after the first Dynamite.
As for the decline, you can blame TK's schizophrenic booking and various poor decisions for losing about 400k of their average viewership over the span of 5 years. There was clearly a huge dip after they aired the Punk footage for example and even the biggest AEW cultists online turned on AEW. I reckon as long as they have their big TV deal there's still a chance that they can bounce back but as long as Tony Khan is the leader and not just someone who funds the show and makes sure shit doesn't go to shit the bounce back will literally never happen.
