It's never a work. AEW keeps having this shit happen and it keeps not being a work, and every time something happens it's even more ludicrous and intense and it turns out to be very real because some people can't handle themselves properly. It's not a work. None of this draws. None of this helps. Earlier in the night, people broke out into an "Oh scissor me daddy" chant because they are now invested in the story of two immature jocks and their adoptive father, a man in his late fifties who wants to be called "Daddy Ass" so badly his own children betrayed him. And somehwo this story has elevated a group to the top of their division and turned them into a giant fan favorite. This is a show where two guys who got written off as unbelievably boring, over-present dudes who didn't need to be there have gotten starmaking moments and turned into big deals and brought the audience back around on them through presentation and storyline alone.
