Top matches: Bret only has a handful of top tier matches (Austin, Owen, Bulldog, Mr Perfect, Benoit, 1-2-3 Kid) as opposed to Bryan (Nigel, KENTA, Morishima, Low Ki, Joe, Roddy, Hero, Aries, Homicide, Richards, Cena, Punk, AJ, Kofi, Roman, Triple H, Omega, Hangman, Eddie, Rush, MJF, ZSJ, Okada, Starks, Garcia, Bandido, Claudio)
Versatility: Bryan is better. He can work long matches, short matches, david vs goliath, underdog, babyface hot tag, final boss heel, comedy midcarder, coward heel, brawler, technician against a far wider variety of opponents, locally and internationally in multiple more promotions, in front of 600 people, empty arenas and in front of 60000 people.
Consistency: Bryan. Bret's entire WCW stint and him phoning it in on house shows kills his argument. Bryan has maybe less than ten stinkers throughout his career while Bret has more despite having a much shorter career
Longevity: Bryan has been best in the world for 22 years. Bret was best in the world from 1991-1997. Had one great match in WCW against Benoit and then retired. No competition.
Promos: Bryan is better. His promos against Cena as an underdog babyface, against Kofi as a heel, his retirement speech, his promo after the Ironman match with MJF and the continental classic interviews are enough evidence.
Charisma: Yes Movement Bryan is the most over babyface of the modern generation. Bret was a hometown hero in Canada and a big draw but I don't know if he can pull off as many character roles or gimmicks as Bryan did in his career. Team Hell No, Yes Movement, Planet's Champion.
