The psychology of the modern wrestler has been shaped by the backlash against guys like Hogan and HHH, and by Punk's speech about part timers. No one wants to be seen as a "diva" or a "politicker" who lowers others to raise themselves up. Look at how Omega, Ospreay, and Danielson have acted in AEW. Constant 51/49 matches where they just barely squeak out a win against some jobber, or where they lose while riding a wave of momentum. Obviously I'm talking about guys with the cache to hold top titles, underneath talent who are trying to come up are obviously willing to nickel and dime. This is part of the reason why AEW can't break out. The only ones willing to fight for a push are overexposed WWE castoffs like Moxbrose and Cope.
