Even though its Konnan he's right. Wrestlers used to be larger than life figures, they had a prescence. Movies and TV shows used them for big bulking characters and henchmen and monsters because of their size and their intimidating prescence. But its not just about size, the issue isnt that wrestlers are no longer these big, hulking, roided figures, because Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart had that same larger than life prescence, even Rey Mysterio and Jeff Hardy further down the line.
The issue is that modern wrestlers:
>Don't put in the effort body wise, its not about size but even muscle wise, they don't look convincing
>You can't tell that they're a wrestler, when you used to walk into backstage you could tell the wrestlers apart from the backstage guys, you can't anymore. When they used to get a guest spot on a talk show they used to stand out, when they were in promotional material with non wrestlers they stood out, they don't anymore, in fact they don't get that promo material spots anymore for this reason, except Roman Reigns and John Cena as they stand out.
>Are more concerned with stars in their matches than how much money they made
>Don't really have characters, most of their characters are "I am passionate about wrestling, I was a wrestling fan growing up, I am a good technical wrestler please stand up and give my match a standing ovation as it had 57 flips, 20 suplex and 33 finisher kick outs" Thats not a gimmick
>Are all video game nerds
>Are all massive bitches on social media which completely kills their mystique. The second they're not booking a show they're acting like absolute pussies on social media
Just give me wrestlers that look like this again. Not roided up, but where I can look at them and tell who they are and what they're about Who's gimmick isnt "I am a good wrestler"
