The sad thing is that most of the consolewar posts we see on the site are probably only done by a handful of people, whether it's a discord server or mental midgets who actually believe what they're saying. Really this could be mitigated pretty quickly if the mod team were to understand how damaging this behavior is but it seems they've been apathetic about the state of /pw/. It would benefit them if they have a bit more of a presence and be proactive in making the board more tolerable.
