>>13248273Cody's definitely responsible for the state of wrestling today. All In doesn't happen without Cody, meaning AEW doesn't happen without Cody. I don't think AEW is anything of a competitor to WWE (they're as much of a competitor as TNA was, arguably less), but Cody has had a genuinely meaningful "put your money where your mouth is" moment in his career.
Everything about his 'story' is within kayfabe pretty much. It doesn't have much to do with his personal life or something that he can't make hints towards, he's mentioned AEW and he's mentioned being an EVP before. The name 'Rhodes' actually has regained a ton of weight which he's been involved with and actively used. He knows how to e a babyface. He's got the look, he absolutely has the drive, he can speak in and outside of the ring and he has the PR face to do it.
Cody's genuinely one of the few guys in wrestling who I'd believe would still be working in wrestling or wrestling if everything went to shit and all despite his numerous skills and despite him having so many other opportunities. He's a diehard and it's hard to hate him for it.
