AEW's big money guaranteed contracts have been a complete disaster for them because their wrestlers have no incentive to do a good job or improve, which results in AEW wasting millions of dollars on mediocre-to-awful talents who will never get better and ex-WWE guys phoning it in since they no longer have to try. Wrestlers should be paid like shit by default and only work their way up the pay grade by drawing, with the ever present threat that they'll be bumped down the pay grade if they stop drawing, because it keeps them hungry and constantly motivated to hone their craft. Swerve and Garcia already got their bag. They don't need to get better. And so they won't.
